5 Natural Ways to Successfully Deal with Vitiligo

In addition, add copper to your diet. Copper is an essential mineral in the body responsible for eliminating free radicals that destroy melanocytes and produce melanin. It also helps to reduce white patches. Consume food rich in copper like liver, oysters, cocoa powder, chocolates, nuts, calamari and lobsters, dried tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, watermelon seed, ground ginger, chilli powder and soybean sprouts. Drink water stored in copper vessel since water in this utensil for longer periods of times that water imbibes all the necessary minerals from the copper vessel.

Along with foods rich in copper, apply red clay in copper on whites patches daily to induce melanin production.

  1. Herbs for vitiligo

Apply paste of basil leaves and lemon juice on white patches to sensitize the production of melanin pigment.

Radish seeds are found to be effective in the regeneration of melanin in human skin. Apply a paste of radish seeds and vinegar everyday on white patches to observe skin darkening over the white patches.

Drinking a glass of neem juice daily leads to melanin production and restores the color on white patches. Similarly, application of neem oil over the skin not only protects the skin from infections but also improve the skin. It also helps in removing toxins from within the body, as well as from the external covering of the body, which is the skin.

Psoralea seeds essentially imitate the effect of the sun tanning and are effective in restoration of skin color. Make a smooth paste of psoralen with barberry root powder, black cumin and coconut oil and apply on white patches to. Sensitive skin may experience reactions, so take care while applying or consult your doctor immediately when irritation occurs.

  1. Give up stress

Emotional stress is the major cause for triggering vitiligo. Those suffering from vitiligo may find it difficult to relieve their stress, but not impossible.
