The most vibrant festival of the year, Holi, is not far away. It’s time now to prepare for the festival of colors. Holi is the Hindu spring festival. It indicates the end of winter and signifies the victory of good over evil. Holi celebration typically includes colors, water guns, water balloons, colored water. But, is the worry of skin and hair care keeping you away from this celebration? Are you hesitating to enjoy? Not any longer, we have compiled a set of handy and useful tips for your hair and skin care, so that you can go out and enjoy Holi to the fullest.

Colors of Holi may cause damage to your skin and hair. Chemicals used in the colors may cause rashes, acne etc problems. So it is important that you take care of your skin and hair before you go to play Holi. Here are some useful tips to care for your skin and hair during this festival of colors.

  • Moisturizing

Apply good amount of moisturizer to your body. It will nourish your skin and also act as a protective barrier between the skin and the colors

  • Sunscreen

Apply sunscreen generously. The more amount of time you spend in sun, greater are the chances of tanning. Prefer sunscreen with SPF 50, so that you are sure about not getting tanned in the sun.

  • Oiling

Massage your scalp with lukewarm oil. Oils that are good to protect your scalp against the harmful chemicals are: Coconut oil, Almond oil, Rosemary Oil, Jojoba Oil. Oil your hair half an hour before you begin to play with colors.

  • Hand and nail care

Massage your hand and nails with a good hand care cream; apply it to the cuticles as well. Apply nail paint, as this will form a protective coat for your nails.

  • Lip care

Apply lip balm generously.

  • Clothing

Prefer long sleeves, as this will reduce the skin exposure to chemicals, thereby protecting your skin.

  • Keep Rose water/Aloe juice handy

For soothing you must keep a bottle of rose water or Aloe juice handy, in case you encounter some irritation, they will soothe your skin. You can use moha: Rose Mist, to get real Roses and Aloe with every spray. It will make your skin rejuvenated.

  • Use natural soaps

Use soaps that contain Aloe Vera, Tulsi etc natural ingredients. Some people use harsh soaps or detergents to clean or remove the color, please avoid doing that.

  • Apply good amounts of moisturizing body lotion after bathing.
